Paul Berdy, born Dec. 20, 1946, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and special memories.
Paul was raised in Edwardsville by his devoted parents, Paul and Mary Gobush Berdy. He shared a special bond with his late wife and life partner, Frances Chukinas Berdy, who preceded him in death eight years ago.
Paul is survived by his brother, Leonard Berdy, Wayne, N.J.; nephews, Andrew and Philip Berdy.
Andrew's wife, Barbara, and their children, Erasmia and Alexander, brought great joy to Paul's life, filling his days with love and laughter. He also leaves behind many caring cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
Educated at Edwardsville High School and Wilkes College, Paul was a lifelong learner with a passion for knowledge. He served his country with honor as an Army Reserve veteran, embodying bravery and dedication.
Professionally, Paul excelled as an accountant and was a founding partner of the esteemed firm Kronick, Kolada, Berdy & Co. in Kingston. His integrity and leadership set a high standard in the field of accounting.
A devoted member of St. John's Orthodox Church, he served on the church council and participated in functions in addition to his consistent attendance.
Outside of work, Paul found solace on the golf course, where he enjoyed countless rounds with friends. A devoted fan of golf and the Phillies, he shared his enthusiasm for sports with those around him.
A funeral service in Paul's honor will be held a 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 93 Zerby Ave, Edwardsville. Friends and family are invited to a viewing service from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with a parastas prayer service at the closing of the viewing. Paul will be interred in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery, Pringle. Arrangements are by Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Twp.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 93 Zerby Ave., Edwardsville, PA 18704.

Paul was a terrific person and a true professional. I will miss him and our conversations about stocks (especially bank stocks) and the Phillies.
