Randall B.K. Mark "Randy," 65, of Dallas and Naples, Fla., passed away peacefully at his home Friday, July 8, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Until his last day he loved family and friends with a spirit and optimism they will never forget.
Randy was born Feb. 4, 1957, to Claire Kohler Mark and Quan Mark at the Woman's Hospital in Philadelphia, though he lived most of his life in the Back Mountain. Randy graduated from Dallas Senior High School, Class of '75, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Wilkes University, Class of '81. He served in the U.S. Navy as petty officer from 1975 to 1977 aboard the USS Raleigh, Norfolk, Va., and in the Navy Reserves from 1977 to 1981. After the Navy, he worked for W.R. Grace in Florida before he returned to the Wyoming Valley where he began his career in metal manufacturing.
In 1999, Randy and his wife, Robin, purchased Pulverman Manufacturing in Larksville, later relocating the company to Dallas. Randy created a team environment and quickly established Pulverman as a world class business. He was a visionary who could see the end of a project before it started. Randy used his larger-than-life personality to lead and motivate others to the finish line no matter the size or scope of the project.
Randy thought it was important to invest in his community. He did this by lending his time, expertise and financial support to the Dallas Library, Luzerne County Fair, Dallas Rotary, Rails to Trails and the Dallas Christmas Tree Lighting to name a few.
Randy and Robin were instrumental in the renovation of the Engineering Center at Wilkes University, which was renamed the Mark Engineering Center in September 2018. Education was important to Randy. He took great pride in giving back to the university that gave him the tools to be successful. At that dedication, Randy encouraged students to take action, not settle for mediocrity and "in some way create excellence every day" - virtues which he lived by in business and in life.
Randy was a member of the board of trustees of Wilkes University, George M. Dallas Lodge 531, Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg, Irem Temple AAONMS and the Back Mountain Chamber. An avid golfer, he also belonged to Huntsville Golf Club, Olde Florida and previously Glenmaura and Pelican Bay, where he had many great friendships … and two holes in one.
Preceded in death by his father, Quan Mark; his mother, Claire and her husbands, Charles Tomasco and Wilbur Gantz.
Randy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Robin Mark; his son, Matthew and fiancée, Katherine Whited; and granddaughters, Birdie, Willow and Charlotte; son, Ryan and wife, Mary Alysse; and granddaughter, Claire; stepson, Owen Cocolin and wife, Nicole; and grandsons, Crue and Riley; stepdaughter, Carrie Rogers; and grandsons, Garrett and Everett; brother, Craig Mark and wife, Barbara; sister, Ginger McCabe and husband, John; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. John and Dr. Devin Carey for their compassionate care and friendship during Randy's illness.
A memorial service will be held Friday Shavertown United Methodist Church. Friends and family may call from 4 to 5 p.m., with service to follow at 5 p.m., officiated by his brother, the Rev. Craig Mark.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in the name of Randy Mark to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, care of 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510.

My name is Michael Fox.
I served aboard the USS Raleigh with Randy.
I was the lead petty officer in the Medical devision division and took Randy under my wing and made him a corpsman striker.
We became good friends and I would make trips with him back to the Dallas Pa area to visit his mom and then girlfriend Debbie.
When we deployed to the Mediterranean he and I toured much of Europe.
He was a good friend and I´m sure all that came in contact with him throughout felt the same as me in that he was a really good soul.
God bless him.

Dearest Robin, our deepest sympathies and condolences. As a customer of Pulverman, I met you both, but very quickly thought of you as friends. Randy was an amazing person who always made those around him feel GOOD just being with him. He exuded strength and compassion at the same time. We are all better people having known him. Bless you and your lovely family at this difficult time. Hang on to your wonderful memories to comfort you.

Very sad to learn of Randy's "way too early passing." We both served as past Presidents of the Wilkes University Veteran's Club. I have many great memories of our time there, especially playing softball. May his family's hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate Randy..."a life well lived."
