Raymond J. Derolf, 52, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in the Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia.
He was born on Oct. 13, 1971, in Wilkes-Barre, the son of the late Raymond T. and Marilyn L. Shaver Derolf. Ray graduated from Bishop Hoban High School, Class of 1989, and received his associate degree from Luzerne County Community College.
Ray was employed as a machinist at Trion Industries, he was earlier employed at Bridon America Corp.
Among his many talents, Ray was a creative writer. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Especially his beloved niece and nephews. Raymond had a perfect combination of strength and sensitivity. He was an inspirational and outstanding human being. He will forever be missed.
Ray is survived by his sisters, Marilyn A. Derolf-Jankowski and her husband, Derek Jankowski, Shavertown; Donna M. Derolf, Dallas; and Mary E. Derolf and her husband, Jason Hart, Dallas; nephews and niece, Jacob Derolf; Elizabeth Derolf; Alex Derolf; and Dylan Derolf-Hart; best friend and "brother," Ben Mckeown; uncle, Richard Derolf; and numerous cousins and friends.
A celebration of Ray's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. James J. Alco will officiate.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 8:30 a.m. to service time.

I am so sorry to hear of Ray's passing. We went to Bishop Hoban together and were pretty good friends. What a good guy. My condolences to the Derolf family.

I use to work with Ray at Trion. He was so kind and gentle. I can't believe he is gone. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be sadly missed.
