Robert B. Appel, 72, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Thomas Appel and Frances Hope Appel. He was a graduate of Dallas High School and Luzerne County Community College.
Bob served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of many decorations and medals. He worked for King 5th Wheel prior to becoming ill.
He was an avid Eagles football fan. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and an occasional trip to Pocono Downs watching the horse races.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Thomas, David, Ronald and Jack Appel.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Peggy Malloy Appel; daughters, Tracy Patton, Cathy and her husband, Andy Semanek; son, Robert Appel; grandchildren, Dennis, Danny, Hannah, Haley, Alexis, Megan and Stevie; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to join the family for a memorial service at 5 p.m. Tuesday from Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to service time.
