Robert Allan Pace, 74, of Lake Twp., passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born March 17, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Lawrence Elmer (1921-2007) and Alberta Hewitt Pace (1925-1982).
Bob was a graduate of E. L. Meyers High School, Class of 1967. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Dickinson University and continued to pursue a Master of English Literature at Penn State University. He was a supervisor for Lake Twp. and enjoyed improving processes and equipment for the township. Bob worked hard to protect the township from fracking and to get more funding for his community.
Bob was a driven, passionate and skilled man always ready and willing to help anyone with anything. He was an advocate for equality and wanted everyone to be treated with compassion and respect. He always fought for what was right and spoke up against bigotry. His greatest joy in life was raising, teaching and supporting his daughter, Miranda to be the best person they could be. Bob also reveled in the pursuit of knowledge for history, literature, politics and philosophy as well as singing and creative writing.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter's mother, Sharon Ann Snyder (1967-2006); and sister-in-law, Fran Pace (1944-2020).
Surviving are his children, Miranda (1998) and Michael Pace (1993); siblings, Lawrence Pace, Jane Lowery (Michael) and Jeffery G. Pace (Joyce); lifelong friends, Linda Shilling, Diane Germick and Richard Leins, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends may pay their respects from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. Private interment will be held at the convenience of family.
Memorial donations may be made in Bob's name to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at Irem Shrine, P.O Box 307, Dallas, PA 18612.

To the Pace Family:
My sympathies on the passing of Bob, a dear old friend from the 60's and 70's. We met via John Monsuer and became fast friends. Stayed in touch throughout college and beyond but lost contact in the late 70's. He was a good man that was quite helpful to me when I was pursuing graduate programs. I often thought about him throughout the years , unfortunately we never saw each other again, sorry to say. His memory will stay with me. May your soul rest in peace, my old friend.

I am so, so sorry to hear of the loss of Bob Pace. He was a sweet, loving man who was so generous and congenial. We shared great laughs and had wonderful chats always about politics, family, and life. I have particularly fond memories with my grandmother of when he was working at our house in summer 2008, alongside his child Miranda, who he was so proud of, and we would talk about Barack Obama´s campaign. He was a tremendous person with a good heart. He´ll be missed.
