Robert "Bob" S. Rowlands, 82, of Dallas, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, after suffering complications from a fall in October.
Bob was born in Larksville on March 23, 1939. He attended Kingston High School and went on to graduate from Valley Forge Military Academy. He attended one semester at Penn State University for electrical engineering.
He was the son of the late Edmund and Helen Sperock Rowlands. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. Rowlands, in 2012; a sister, Rose Walsh; and brother, Edmund Rowlands.
He is survived by his sons, Robert E. Rowlands (Michelle), Dallas; and Matthew J. Rowlands (Sharon), Michigan; grandson, Timothy Rowlands and his companion, Yoo, Michigan; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bob is also survived by his faithful and loyal companion, "Tucker," who was always by his side and rode shotgun in the front seat of the truck.
Bob and Nancy ran Rowlands Appliance in Kingston for over 50 years until his retirement.
Bob was a member of Gate of Heaven of Church, Dallas. He was also an active member of the Dream Mile Club, Blakeslee. He enjoyed the many projects and work days at the club with "the guys," as well as hunting and fishing. He was also an avid trap shooter. Bob loved being outdoors, having a good cigar with a glass of scotch and spending time with family and friends, especially on Christmas Eve.

Thank you to the staff at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for the care they provided. Thank you to the entire staff at Meadows Nursing Home and Dr. Boonin for their excellent care and warm compassion in the care of Bob. Also, thank you to Pine Creek Kennels for watching over "Tucker."
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Kopicki Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Gate of Heaven Church.
At the request of the family, anyone wishing to attend the viewing hours or the funeral must wear a mask.
