Rose M. Swanberry, 70, of Sheatown section of Newport Twp., passed away unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, at her home.
Born Feb. 7, 1951, she was a daughter of the late John and Rose Lipinski Rasmus. She graduated from Nanticoke High School and resided in the area her entire life.
Rose worked for Christy Fashion, Glen Lyon, and lastly at Koehler Brightstar, Hanover Twp., until retiring in 2003.
The most important part of her life was her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she adored.
She was the last member of her immediate family, being preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kimberly Higgins and husband, Aaron, Nanticoke; her son, Shane Swanberry and wife, Lindsay, Mystic, Conn.; granddaughters, Jessica (Brooke), Sara (Jeff), Kendall and Hailey; great-grandchildren, O'lyvia, Jeffrey, and Jaxon; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Jake and Belle.
A private service was held from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, Nanticoke, with the Rev. Timothy G. Hall, pastor of Nebo Baptist Church, officiating.
There will be no public viewing or calling hours.
