Rose Timek Obituary

Rose Marie B. Timek, 86, a resident of Dallas, passed into eternal life unexpectedly early Saturday morning, Dec. 17, 2022, at her home, with her daughters at her side.

Her beloved husband was the late Andrew J. Timek Jr., who passed away on June 8, 2000. Andrew and Rose Marie were blessed to share 40 wonderful years of marriage.

Born on Sept. 23, 1936, in Plains Twp., Rose Marie was one of three children born to the late Felix Zaremski and Ann Kalemba Zaremski.

Raised in Plains Twp., Rose Marie was a graduate of the former Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1954.

In her earlier years, Rose Marie was employed as a bookkeeper in the garment industry, and following the birth of her daughters, she dedicated her life to being a homemaker.

A woman of great faith, Rose Marie was a longtime member of the former St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville, and, in more recent years, she was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, and also attended Mass at Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston.

Rose Marie had an immense devotion to the Most Blessed Virgin Mother and prayed the Rosary often. It was this devotion that led Rose Marie to be a promoter of the Miraculous Medal through the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal Shrine for the past 54 years.

Throughout her life, Rose Marie enjoyed decorating her home - she always had flair for interior design; cooking for her family and trying new recipes; working the daily crossword puzzle; and spending time with her family and friends.

Rose Marie will be remembered most for the love and adoration she had for her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she was so very proud of all of their achievements in life. Although her presence will be deeply missed, there is peace in knowing that she is now in heaven, basking in the glory of her Lord and his Most Blessed Mother alongside her husband and all her loved ones who were waiting for her there.

In addition to her parents, Felix and Ann Zaremski, and her husband, Andrew, Rose Marie was preceded in death by her newborn daughter, Lori Ann Timek; and her brothers, Lawrence and Richard Zaremski.

Rose Marie is survived by her loving daughters, Lynette Podskoch and her husband, Michael, Dallas; and Lori Singer Sarafinko and her husband, Robert, Moosic; two adoring grandchildren, Michael Podskoch Jr., Esquire and Alyssa Podskoch, both of Dallas; sister-in-law, Irene Zigmund, Inkerman; brother-in-law, Edward Timek and his wife, Arlene, Inkerman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral at 10:15 a.m. Thursday from Wroblewski Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston, with Monsignor John J. Sempa, pastor and family friend, officiating.

Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery, Schooley Avenue and Sturmer Street, Exeter.

Family and friends are invited to Rose Marie's viewing, which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Dear Lori and Lynette,

Needless to say, your mom was a warm and caring person who always put others first. She touched the lives of many during her life, in particular mine, and will be sorely missed. Now that her life's journey is complete, I hope you take comfort in this. May the Lord grant you, and your family, peace during this very challenging time!

Rose was a very special lady and friend. She will forever be one of The Girls with my mom Ruth and Kay. It was a great comfort to me and my family she was there when my mom was recovering from covid. My children always loved she remembered their birthdays and graduations. Until we meet again...
