Ryan P. Richards, 34, of Wilkes-Barre Twp., passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born in West Wyoming, he was the son of Margaret Rose Licata Richards and the late Edward "Ned" Richards. He was a graduate of Wyoming Area, Class of 2007, and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Penn State University in criminal justice. For the past six years, he had been employed at CDL Maguire as a construction inspector.
Surviving, besides his mother, are his wife, Carissa Richards (Nappa); sister, Dana Farkas and her husband, Johnnie; nieces and nephews, Hunter, Jack, Sawyer Farkas and Kaylani Owens; aunts and uncles; beloved dog, Bruno; and guinea pig, Arthur.
A blessing service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. Peter Tomczak as celebrant.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Ste 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Ryan had been a friend of my son for many,many years. I can still hear him coming in our kitchen door," oh,Mrs.Roote , are you making chicken soup?!" He was one of those kids you wanted for your child´s friend. I´m so very sorry for your loss, ALL of our loss, he was a good young man!

Rest easy Ryan. I worked at Gerritys in Wyoming with Ryan and he was the funniest, honest, friendly and loved to prank and pick on everyone. To his beloved family and his wife I send my deepest apologies and condolences.
