Samuel Nardone Sr.

Samuel (Mike) Nardone Sr., 90, of the Old Boston section of Jenkins Township, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born Sept. 1, 1926, in the Old Boston section of Jenkins Township, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Raefulcuia DeStefano Nardone.

He was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in the Pacific as a petty officer.

He was self-employed in the trucking industry for many years.

He was a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kurilla Nardone; son, Samuel M. Nardone Jr.; daughter, JoAnn Nardone; brothers, Alexander (Sandy), Joseph, Frank and Victor Nardone; sisters, Yolanda "CiCi YaYa" Tancredi and Victoria Nardone.

Surviving are his son, Francis Nardone and his wife Diane, Saylorsburg; grandchildren, Stephanie Nestor, and partner, John Durko; Christina Nardone; Nicole Nardone; Matthew Nardone and Mary Bogdanovicz; sisters, Ann Presciutti, Dallas, and Marguerite Aquilina and her husband, Tony, Dupont; sister-in-law, Norma Nardone, Plains Township; numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank and Diane would like to thank his nephew, Michael, and wife, Mary, of Old Boston for all the help they gave to Uncle Mike throughout the years.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
