Sandra Roback Obituary

Sandra Roback of Ashley passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre, with her family by her side.

Born in Wilkes-Barre in 1949, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Joseph George and was a graduate of Meyers High School, Class of 1967. The majority of her work career was with the Hanover Area School District, and she retired from the Luzerne Intermediate Unit.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, known as "Nana." She was also a great cook and baker, known for her nut rolls. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially attending various events for her eight grandchildren. Going to the casino, shopping and talking for hours with her friends gave her great pleasure.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Edward Roback; children, Edward (Angie) Roback, Pringle; Jeffrey (Alicia) Roback, Shavertown; Jami (Tim) Simcox, Nanticoke; Michael (Elizabeth) Roback, Brooklyn, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, David, Edward (EJ), Olivia, Isabella, Ryan, Abbey, Skylar and Felicity; siblings, Anthony (Maureen) George of Harveys Lake and John (Sherry) George, Inkerman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the wonderful help and care given by the staff at Allied Services.

Per Sandra's wishes, there will be no calling hours.

Family and friends may make memorial donations to the Fox Chase Cancer Center at https://www.foxchase.org/giving/ways-give/donate-now or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org.
