Sandra J. Shields Zupancic, 63, of Elyria, Ohio, formerly of Wilkes-Barre passed away Friday, September 13, 2024, in the Ames Family Hospice House of the Western Reserve Westlake, Ohio.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late George A. and Martha C. Rundle Shields. Sandra was a graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School, Class of 1978. She was a member of the former Parish Street United Methodist Church and the former Albright United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Sandra was employed as a manager for Cottom's Wildlife Removal in Columbia Station, Ohio. While living in Wilkes-Barre, she had been employed by Roth American, ABC Trucking and Love's Thermal Systems Inc.
Sandra loved spending time with her husband, family and friends. She enjoyed going on cruises, comedy clubs, traveling and shopping.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cousin, Charles "Chuck" Williams; sisters-in-law, Susan, Gloria, Elaine and Carol Zupancic; and brother-in-law, James Zupancic.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 37 years, David Zupancic; brother, George A. Shields, Rocky River, Ohio; sister, Diane E. Shields (Judith Godare), Delaware, Ohio; cousin, Donna Yeisley; sisters-in-law, Sandy, Debra, Sharon and Janis Zupancic; brothers-in-law, Frank and William Zupancic; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Jane M. Pykus, pastor of Church of Christ Uniting in Kingston, will officiate. Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
