While living in Ohio, he became a staunch Buckeyes fan as a member of the President's Club of The Ohio State University.
In 1982, he moved back to Pennsylvania, where he opened Atlantic Insurance Agency and later sold that company to Eastern Insurance Agency. In 1991, Steve began an insurance consulting business for small to medium sized companies. While living in Pennsylvania, he was a member of the Westmoreland Club, Leadership Wilkes-Barre, the Board of Directors of Penn State University, Wilkes-Barre Campus.
Steve moved back to Ohio in 1994 and became active with his homeowner association, where changes he instituted made a dramatic difference in the community. While in Ohio, Steve was a member of the Board of Directors of Charlie's ¾ House.
Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and sister, Shirley.

Steve and Rosemary would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary in December.
Steve and Rosemary met when he pulled her scarf at an ice skating rink trying to make her fall. They dated in high school where he taught her how to drive and took her to her first prom. They reconnected in 1982 and married in 1984.
Steve moved to Estero, Fla., in 2011, where he became a loyal member of Elks Lodge 2753.
Steve served as treasurer of that lodge for two years and as exalted ruler for three years and lodge trustee for three years. Steve was serving again as the lodge exalted ruler for 2020 to 2021 when he passed away. He was asked to serve in a state capacity for the Elks but declined.
He loved volunteering at the Elks, singing karaoke and meeting a host of new people at the lodge.
Steve never met a stranger and always made everyone feel welcome. He was a great dancer and had many friends in Pennsylvania, Ohio and in Florida. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, no service is planned at this time but a celebration of life will take place in 2021.

I am so very sorry Rosemary. Steve was a nice boy in school and a real gentleman as he grew up. I will miss seeing him at our reunions. I will keep Steve, you, and your family in my prayers.

Steve was among the larger than life sports figures during our growing up years in Plymouth, and we are very saddened by his passing. Prayers to his family to console them in this loss.
