Thomas Biniek Obituary

Thomas J. Biniek Sr., 72, of Plymouth, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019, at home, surrounded by his loved ones after a long and courageous battle from illness.

Thomas was a 1965 graduate of Plains High School and went on to serve the country in the National Guard. His talents included playing the drums in a rock band, bowling, where he achieved a perfect score, and karate, where he earned the rank of black belt.

Successful in business, he owned and operated Cakes by Gail Bakery in Plymouth.

Born March 19, 1947, in Plains Twp., he was the son of the late Andrew J. Biniek Sr. and Helen Moses Biniek.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew Jr., Joseph and William.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Gail; daughters, Christine, Plymouth; Michelle and her husband, John Moshey, Dallas; son, Thomas Jr. and his wife, Leah, Plymouth; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Rita Rittenhouse, Plymouth; and brother, Edward and wife, Patricia, Plains Twp.; sisters-in-law, Joanie and Jane; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, 134 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church.

Friends are welcome to remember Thomas from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Kielty-Moran Funeral Home Inc, 87 Washington Ave., Plymouth.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
