Thomas J. Collins Sr., 79, of Dupont and formerly of Norristown, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Highland Manor, Exeter.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary McShane Collins.
Thomas was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School. Thomas, along with his wife of 58 years, the former, Leona Nentwig, moved to Norristown, where he was a long time employee of Sperry Univac.
He was a 50-year member of Men of Malvern, a leader for the Boy Scouts of America for 35 years and a certified trainer for the NRA. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan and even had the privilege to work for the Eagles at the Linc.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Collins; sisters, Marie Foley and Rosemarie Collins; brothers, Edward, John and Donald Collins; and nephew, Edward Collins Jr.
Along with Thomas' wife, Leona, he is survived by daughter, Donna "Dawn" and husband, Robert Curtis, Dupont; and son, Thomas J. Collins Jr. and wife, Regina, Stowe; grandchildren, Ryan and wife, Kaleen, Mariah, Christian and Eric Curtis; and Sarah, Patrick, Bryan and Samantha Collins; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Layla, Greyson and Hudson; brother, Joseph and wife, Diana Collins; and sister, Regina and husband, Joseph Deininger.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. June 1 in St. Helena Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959

May their beautiful souls rest in perfect peace. They were my next door neighbors for 15 years. They were like my family. I will always cherish the time I had with them. My thoughts and prayers are with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
