Thomas Joseph Kravits, 81, of Trucksville, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Allied Services Hospice Center Wilkes-Barre.
Born April 13, 1942, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Matthew and Julia Krishock Kravits. He was a graduate of Edwardsville High School and enjoyed working in the landscaping and estate management business.
He will be remembered as one of the finest mentors a young person could have, and as a deeply patient teacher who could make anything into a learning experience worth getting excited about. He will also be remembered for his incredibly quick wit and sharp humor, known for an endless amount of one-liners ready to go for any situation. He could most often be found tending to his garden or working on one of his countless projects; a man most comfortable with his hands kept busy and surrounded by nature.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Matthew Kravits.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Rosemarie Rehlen Kravits, Nördlingen, Germany; daughters, Christine McCarthy, Easthampton Mass.; Corinne Kravits, New Canaan, Conn.; and Stefanie and her husband, Francis Parulis, York, Maine; grandchildren, Colin McCarthy, Easthampton, Mass.; Liam McCarthy, Northampton, Mass.; Quinton Parulis and his wife, Allyson, Portland Maine; and Nic Parulis and Jean Fecteau, Burlington, Vt.
The family is eternally grateful for the staff at Allied Hospice in Wilkes-Barre for their extraordinary care and compassion in his final hours.
Memorial services will be held privately at the convenience of family in accordance with his wishes.
