Thomas R. Wozniak, 80, of Luzerne, passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 26, 2021, at his home.
Prior to moving to Luzerne in 2020, Tom was a 50-year resident of Forty Fort.
Tom and his wife, Johanna Santee, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on Aug. 31, 2021.
Born April 21, 1941, in Kingston, Thomas was the son of the late Peter and Alberta Cywinski Wozniak. His twin brother, Theodore R. Wozniak, passed away on June 6, 2009.
Raised in Swoyersville, Tom was a graduate of the former Swoyersville High School, Class of 1959. Following high school, Tom enlisted with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, serving for four years with the 109th Field Artillery Battalion.
For 35 years, Tom was employed as a furnace operator for the former Owens-Illinois Inc., Jenkins Twp. Upon his retirement, he launched a second career as a para-educator for the Wyoming Valley West School District. Throughout his life, he worked many "side jobs," which reflected his strong work ethic, his skills and talents and his devotion to giving his family all he could.
Tom was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
A man of many enjoyments, Tom especially loved watching the Philadelphia Phillies and enjoyed the many games he attended with his son and sons-in-law. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting with his dad, brother and extended family; and was also an avid bowler. He loved taking his children to the Forty Fort pool, a pastime he later enjoyed with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed family vacations and his all-time favorite vacations were spent camping with his family at Otter Lake in the Poconos. He loved his wife's cooking and was known for his love of "chubby bears," always having them with him!
In addition to his wife, Johanna, Tom is survived by his five children, Susan Lettera, Macungie; Thomas (Ninaleigh) Wozniak, Forty Fort; twin daughters, Deborah (Mark) Davis, Forty Fort, and Donna (Norman) McIver, Kingston; and Corinne (Walter) Pickett, Ridgefield, Conn.; his seven grandchildren, Mark (Amanda) Davis; Brittney (Jordan) Gray; Joseph and Johanna Lettera; Tyler Wozniak; and Caroline and Madeline Pickett; six great-grandchildren; aunt, Josephine Wozniak, Kingston; and nieces and nephews.
The Wozniak family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice for their excellent care for Tom and for the support they gave Tom's family.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville, with the Rev. Joseph J. Pisaneschi, his pastor, officiating. Family and friends may assemble directly at the church Saturday morning.
Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Swoyersville.

You couldn't ask for better neighbors in Forty Fort; about 35 years. Tom had every tool that I didn't; it was alot. Pleasant, easy to talk to; a laugh or two with Tom in the morning and my day was already off to a great start. Tom will be missed by a lot of people of many ages, for a long time. RIP.
