Victor F. Helmbold, 93, of Tunkhannock, passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, at his daughter's home in Hanover Twp. surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Plymouth, May 20, 1929, he was a son of the late Andrew and Emma Hildebrand Helmbold.
After graduation, Victor honorably served in the U.S. Army. He attended Penn State University and became a mining engineer. He worked the Plymouth mine. Following his mining career, he was owner and operator of his family business, Helmbold Press.
He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Victor was an antiques dealer. He was also an avid Penn State fan. Most of all, he enjoyed the times he spent fishing in Canada.
In addition to his parents, Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen S. Montigney Helmbold; daughter, Ellen; son-in-law, Michael; and brothers, Clark, Andrew and Wilbur.
Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Florena Shovlin; Karen Weiss (William); Audrey Cebulko and companion, Anthony; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
