William J. Davis Jr.

William J. Davis Jr., son of the late William J. Davis, Esq. and Hannah Lloyd Davis, died Monday, May 24, 2021.

Bill attended Wyoming Seminary and GAR High School. He graduated from Wilkes College with a degree in psychology and furthered his studies at The New School for Social Research in NY.

Bill was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Irem Temple Shrine. Although originally from Wilkes-Barre, his primary residence for the last 26 years was in Florida. He moved to Florida to pursue his passion for golf and contract bridge. Bill was a Life Master of The American Contract Bridge League and served as a teacher for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, Dale Dwyer Davis; his son, William P. Davis; and grandsons, Schuyler and Hunter; stepsons, Brian, Robert and Kevin Dwyer; and grandchildren, Riley, Jennie, Robert, Logan, Brian Jr., Josef and Brian; sister, Susan Davis Hankey; a brother, James Lloyd Davis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill devoted the last 47 years of his life freely helping people who suffered from addiction. He will be missed by the numerous families he helped.

Bill's physical activity was limited but his generosity of spirit to assist others in need never died.

Bill was The Rock for the Davis family. He will be sorely missed but we will continue to be inspired by his gusto for life amid physical limitations and his fierce sense of loyalty and love for his family and friends.
