William Feldman, formerly of Forty Fort, Shavertown and most recently Wesley Village, passed away on Saturday, October 12.
Born in North Wilkes-Barre, Bill was the son of the late Marshall and Dorothy Feldman
After being a student athlete at Coughlin High School, Bill served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Upon returning home, he graduated from Penn State University and went on to a 35 year career with the Luzerne County Public Defender's Office.
Sports were an important part of Bill's life. His 1956 baseball team played in the Little League World Series in Williamsport. He lettered in four high school sports. Bill played in football and softball leagues until his sons were born. He then went on to coach baseball and began the Forty Fort T-ball League. He also coached his boys in soccer and wrestling. He followed Drew's wrestling career from elementary through today. Never missing a match. Bill was a Nittany Lion all the way. He was also active in community affairs and his church.
Bill was proceeded in death by his son, Billy; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Bob Grover; and sister-in-law, Kay Gross.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Gross; son, Drew; grandsons, Camden and August; daughter-in-law, Amy; and brother-in-law, Mick. He also leaves behind many treasured friends.
Family and friends are invited from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday at Hugh B. Hughes Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
Funeral service, with Pastor Richard Bradshaw of the Forty Fort United Methodist Church presiding, will begin following the viewing at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Forty Fort United Methodist Church, 26 Yeager Ave., Forty Fort, PA 18704, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
