William Marcinkowski Obituary
Born April 13, 1934, in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Frank (Patsy) and Cadelia Pitchford Marcinkowski.
For many years he owned and operated Marcinkowski's Service Station, where he, with the help of his son, Billy, served the people of Nanticoke. They always had Christmas gifts for their customers and candy for the kids.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his beloved wife of 52 years, the former Phyllis Pepel, on Nov. 6, 2009, and infant sons, Frank and Michael.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. John (Noelle) Opachinski; son, Billy; brothers, John and his wife, Theresa, and Ray and his wife, Elsie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in the main site of St. Faustina's Parish, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke.
Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Newport Township.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Billy loved sports and only knew how to be an ethical and hardworking businessman.
The family would like to thank the administration and staff of Birchwood and special friend, Diane Zemski, for their loving care.

Dear Marcinkowski Family
I always went there for gas and was treated with the utmost respect and they would always be willing to help if you needed air in your tire, look to see what's wrong with the tire and they always had a smile on their faces. Definitely a good Nanticoke memory for sure. So sorry for your loss. God Bless you at this most difficult time.

The coolest stop in town for gas with my dad was Marcinkowskis station. Always a smile and candy. The last service station of its kind and definitely a piece of Nanticoke history. The Marcinkowski name is pillar in this town. Awesome people.

Billy was my cousin-in-law and was married to my first cousin Phyllis. He was a really great guy. Phyllis's parents were my Uncle Phil and Aunt Helen. Phil was my mother, Victoria Pepel Bogacki's brother. Rest in Peace. My sincerest sympathies to family and friends.

I lived three houses away from Marcinkowski's Gas Station back in the later 60's while there I worked at the Gas Station, I was taught a lot about about learning how to treat people by serving them. I had great teachers, Bill and his brother Ray. I'm so grateful for knowing the Marcinkowski Family. I want to express my Condolences to Bill Jr, Noelle, Ray, Frank and all the Marcinkowski Family, may your love for Bill cure and add closure to your sorrow but may your memories live with him forever....
