Big Al -- It is July 4th, we're out at the Spirit of Kansas Blues Festival at Lake Shawnee and we're toasting you. Missing you today and many days and the KU Football games won't be the same without you either. Watch over us. Much love always.

Can't believe you're gone
Al. We could always count on each other to be there whether it was a fishing excursion or to the bar for a beer and watch the Royals play or any other trouble that had a way of finding us. Rest easy now Al!

Love you and miss you Big Al. Miss the fishing days on the Deleware and Kansas rivers. Miss the times we sat on the couch visiting and telling/listening to stories with my father Ralph. God bless you.

Big Al,
You were a friend that could always be counted on! When it came to fishing you were up for anything! We seemed to give them back to Thee, O God. Who gave them to us. Yet, as thou did not lose them in giving, so we do not lose them by their return. Life is eternal and love immortal. Death is only a horizon that is the limit of our sight. I will see you again when it is my turn to complete the circle, you will be missed until then dear friend. I send comforting prayers to all Al's friends and loved ones.

I am a graduate of 1977 with Alan and my heart breaks for this loss

My friendship with Al began as teammates with the "The Aces" baseball team in the Suburban League in Oakland. Continuing thru Jr. High and high school and after. Al always had a kind word and would always ask about my parents and how they were doing. Always fun to play catch up with Al when we would run into each other and share a beer. Going to miss this cat.
Eternal rest grant to him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

To Alan's Family,
I remember Alan well from our days spent high jumping while I was at Hayden. He was a good competitor and friend. May he rest in peace.
