Bette Hulser Obituary

Bette June Henry Mallonee Hulser, 70, died peacefully at home in Topeka on August 9, 2012. Services are at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 16, at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Bette was born on May 12, 1942, in Lawrence, Kansas, to L. Lew and June Henry, who predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Leah Mallonee of the home; grandchildren, Andy, Eddy and Ashley Watson and Melissa Mallonee; great-grandchildren, Bella and Drew Watson; sisters, Marsha Goff, Lesta Kline and Vicki Julian. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Lew Mallonee. When Mike, who suffered from MS, needed constant care, Bette gave up her claims analyst position at Payless Shoesource and nursed him for over 10 years. Her selfless devotion to her son and her ability to perform daunting medical tasks for Mike amazed all who knew her.
