Buddy was the man! George Clark owner of the 171 Supermodified made these two comments to me in an interview in 2009. “Bud blew them in the weeds tonight”. Buddy drove with his head not his foot yet was very fast, setting several records and winning many races primarily at the MidAmerica Fairgrounds Track in Topeka. Thanks for the memories Buddy. While I didnt know Buddy well, I have a couple quotes George Clark owner of the # 171 Super Modified told me when I interviewed George in 2008.. Shorty drove with his foot (driver before Buddy and we tore up the car many times) but Buddy drove with his head and look at the success Buddy had driving a under funded car. Another quote from George that he used often when Buddy did well was ole Bud blew them in the weeds tonight! LOL. Think of you and Buddy this anniversary of Buddys death. Respectfully, Marlin Weyer

I LOVE YOU DAD, I KNOW YOUR HAPPY CAUSE YOU GET TO BE WITH MOM.
ANYONE CAN BE A FATHER BUT IT TAKES A GOOD MEN TO BE A DAD. I LOVE YOU DAD AND I MISS YOU I REMEMBER ALL THE TIMES THAT MOM AND DAD TRY TO SET ME DOWN AND PREPARE ME FOR THE DAY THEY WOULD LEAVE AND GO TO HEAVEN. , WE ALL KNEW IT WOULD BE HARD FOR ME BUT i NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD ACTUAL BE THIS SOON THAT I LOSE BOTH OF YOU. I HAVE LIVED ALL MY LIFE THROUGH MY LOVING PARENTS AND MY MOM ALWAYS SAID I ACT LIKE YOU DAD AND I PUT YOU UP ON A PEDESTAL. I GUESS I MAY HAVE BEGGED A TIME OR TWO CAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS HOW I LOVED THE 2 OF YOU. I KNOW YOU BOTH ARE IN HEAVEN AND SINCE MOM GOT THERE FIRST DAD'S PROBABLY DOING A LITTLE MISBEHAVING. I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID FOR MY MOM AND FAMILY AND I WAS SO LUCKY TO HAVE A GUY LIKE YOU ALL OF US AND MADE A FAMILY. I DON'T KNOW IF I EVER TOLD YOU THANK FOR THE LOVE AND SUPPORT YOU BOTH GAVE ME AND FOR MAKING ME THE PERSON I AM TODAY, FOR ALL THE TALKS WE HAD ON THE WALL AND ALL THE FLOOR DANCES WE HAD IN THE BAR. I LOVE YOU DAD AND TELL MOM HI AND I MISS HER VERY MUCH. I KNOW YOU BOTH TOLD ME TO BE VERY STRONG AND YOU TRIED TO PREPARE ME FOR ALL THIS PAIN OF MY BROKEN HEART.. I PRAY THAT MOM AND YOU GET THE REST AND PEACE THROUGH YOUR ETERNITY. AND YOU CAN BET I'LL WATCH FOR SHOOTING THE STARS WHILE YOU BOTH DANCE IN HEAVEN. I NEVER UNDERSTAND WHILE GOD TAKES THE GOOD HAPPY ONES, AND HOW MANY ANGELS DOES HE NEED? I LOVE YOU BOTH AND KNOW THAT MY HEART IS EMPTY AND FULL OF PAIN, AND I BET YOU THESE LAST FEW DAYS I'VE FILLED UP A SINK WITH ALL MY TEARS AND FEARS OF LIVING THIS LONG ROAD AHEAD WITHOUT THE BOTH OF YOU. I NEVER THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD COME AND YOU BOTH TOLD ME EVERYONE HAS TO GO SOME DAY AND YOU BOTH HAD A LIFE BETTER THEN MOST. I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU ALREADY I DON'T KNOW HOW I'M GOING TO BE STRONG WHEN MY ENTIRE WORLD I KNEW JUST KEEPS FALLING DOWN ALL AROUND ME. PEOPLE ALWAYS SAY THAT ANGELS ARE AMONG US AND THEY WILL KEEP WATCH OVER THEIR LOVE ONES, AND I PRAY AND HOPE THAT YOU BOTH DO LIST THAT CAUSE GODS KNOWS I'LL MISS YOUR ADVICE AND LATE NITE CALLS AND IT WILL BE VERY HARD FOR ME TO TRAVEL THIS LONELY ROAD WITHOUT EITHER OF MY PARENTS BEING BESIDE ME, I LIVED THROUGH YOU AND YOU LIVED THROUGH ME, AND I'LL NEVER FORGET ALL THOSE STORIES. OR HOW MANY TIMES YOU REPEAT AND REPEAT, THE SAME OLD, IT DIDN'T MATTER 1 TIME OR A THOUSAND TIMES I SET AND LISTEN TO YOU AS YOU DID TO ME. WE SHARE A LAUGH AND A SMILE AND SOMETIMES YOU WOULD MAKE A FUNNY FACE THAT REALLY GOT PEOPLE TO SMILE.
I'LL MISS YOU BOTH AND DON'T KNOW HOW I'LL GET RID OF SO MUCH PAIN AND SORROW>>>THANK YOU DAD AND MOM WITH ALL MY HEART OF LOVE AND YOU BOTH DESIRE TO REST IN PEACE THROUGHOUT ETERNITY.
LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU
LOVE CRYSTAL

So sorry for your loss. George Clark is my Grandfather. For years and years I've listened to old racing stories. THEY NEVER GET OLD !! Grandpa always gets excited when talking about Buddy. "Old Bud blew them in the weeds ! " Grandpa always talked so highly of Bud. They made a great team!! My daughter races quarter midgets now and we love looking at old photo's of Great Grandpa George and Buddy throwing dirt. I will tell Grandpa the sad news. Again sorry for your loss

James and family sorry for your loss. I knew Buddy from the Super Modified days driving for George Clark of Corning in the 171 car where he had many successes. Buddy drove with his head not just his foot. May he rest in peace.
