Stormy and I were childhood friends as her rural Baxter home was near my grandparents farm. We sometimes rode the bus to school together. Though she was a "big kid" and a whole year older than me, I remember her kindness, especially toward the younger kids and also to animals. She liked to ride horses and was quite skilled with riding at a very young age. In a saddle or bareback, she was equally graceful and confident. Stormy had a fiercely independent, untamed spirit. Even as a child, I always knew she could hold her own in "thick and thin". She was bit of a legend and well loved by all her neighbors at Baxter, including my grand parents. I remember that I especially admired her hair, plaited in two dark, tightly woven braids draped across her back.
On occasion, after we were grown women. we would see each other on chance, when she returned to Baxter to visit old friends. She would always hug my neck and then share news of her family. It was impossible to miss the love and pride she held in her heart for each of you.
I pray that you find comfort and peace as your hearts begin to heal.

Dale and family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
The last time we saw Cassandra was at the Pizza Hut in Dodgeville. We were sitting there eating and she came over to say hi. Needless to say it was a surprise to see her after so many years. We had a nice visit and found out about your lives since moving from our area. We really enjoyed seeing her.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My first memories of Cassandra are when Michael and I got engaged. I knew she was special because Michael thought so much of her. She volunteered to make the mints - the wonderful, little rose-shaped butter mints- for our wedding. Cassandra was always looking for something she could do to make someone feel special. She loved her family and having everyone together - like a few years ago when Joshua, Abby, Brionna and I flew up for Thanksgiving. She and Dale also came to Brionna's soccer game at Commerce. We will miss her very much but I know Heaven was waiting for her with open arms to spread her sunshine. She and Michael are watching over us. Our sympathy to all of her family.
