Mary, Ron & Ross; My prayers go out for you and your extended family during this painful time. Larry Brake informed me of Charles' passing. I have many fond and fun memories of our times together at Blue Rapids High in the 60's and cruising around the square as well as attending church activities at 1st Baptist Church in BR when my dad was pastor there.

Mary, as a kid I always admired your walk with the Lord. Feel free to email me anytime. May our God's Grace comfort you in this terrible loss.

I knew Charlie at KSU where both of us were in Civil Enginnering. I clearly remember he was the last person I saw and spoke to as I departed Manhattan the morning after my orals for a degree in the fall of 1971. That's an example of the kind of impression he left on everyone as I remember our conversation better than the events of the day before.

Karen,

I received Terry King's note today and was completely shocked. Cindy and I loved Charlie and will miss him greatly. He was a wonderful friend from the first time we met as freshman at KSU up to last fall when we last saw him. We had so many wonderful experiences and learned so much together. He had such a passion for engineering that he was an inspiration to me and scores of others. We will cherish the times we had together, Angel Fire, K-State, Florida and think of what a kind and gentle man he was. We will never forget his hearty laugh and love for life. He loved you and your children and I trust that you will be comforted by those thoughts.

Charlie was an example of what you can accomplish when you put no limits on yourself. He was a terrific guy who had many terrific accomplishments.

June 15, 2006

To the Stryker Family: I knew Charlie as one of the finest Phi Delta Theta fraternity brothers at Kansas State during the late 60's and early 70's. Charlie was a born leader and provided us with a fine example of an "older" brother to those of us that came along later in the fraternity. Charlie had a fine voice and sang as a solo the theme from the hit movie "Love Story" at my wedding in 1971. Charlie's list of community involvement is a true testament to his character. He will be missed, but not forgotten. YITB, Marty Ruegsegger

To the Charlie Stryker families, including Charlie's immediate family and Charlie's mother and the Ron Stryker family. Times like these in life come along and causes us to have a lot of questions. 1st in the list most of the time is why? In time, we hope the Great Lord will help us understand at least some of the situation. Although I was never around Charlie for long periods of time, what time I was allowed to share with him, he always treated me with respect and I truely enjoyed every conversation I had with him and really enjoyed the ride on his boat at lake shawnee. I wish very strongly at this moment, that I could do anything at all for your familes, to ease your pain, answer all your questions, and make life much easier for you, but truely at this time, what I would like to say, is Charlie was not just a good family man, but simply a great individual, I had alot of respect for him and always will, all my memories of charley will be how kind he was and respectful, my memories will all be good ones. To Ron Stryker and family, God Bless you all, and if there is anything I can do at all for any of the Stryker family, and I do mean anything at all, for any of you, please call, Ron Stryker or Gay knows how to get a hold of me, Kevin Reese, Auburn, Ks-Martin Farm Power
