Clayton Wilkins

Osage City-Clayton Wilkins, 88, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was born on September 18, 1923 in Scranton, the son of John and Ellen Nelson Wilkins. Clayton had lived most all of his life in Osage City. He had worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in the shops and then was a bus driver for the Rice Bus Service. He enjoyed woodworking, leather working and fishing. On April 14, 1945 Clayton was married to Alice Oveson in Ottawa, KS. Clayton was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Jinx Fike on March 19, 1996 and by his brother, Nels and his sister, Mary Ellen. Clayton is survived by his wife Alice of the home; his four children, Dennis Wilkins of Osage City, Richard Wilkins (Pam) of McLouth, Randy Wilkins (Kim) of Lyndon and Teresa Fields (Terry) of Topeka; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services for Clayton will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 7 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm on Tuesday until service time.
