Cleo Fern Kornelson

Cleo Fern Kornelson, 83, of South Hutchinson, passed away June 19,2006 at Hutchinson Hospital emergency room. She was born February 10, 1923 at Fort Dodge, KS, the daughter of Roy Wallace May and Amy Elnora Stoughton. She was a longtime resident of Reno County, spending 28 years in Valley Falls and returning to Reno County in 1998. She is a 1941 graduate of Hutchinson High School. Cleo worked as a riveter for Cessna; long distance operator for the phone company, Deli Girl for former Dillons Deli from 1961 until her retirement in 1970; homemaker, mother. Cleo was president of the Broomfield Club, Valley Falls, KS. She married Herman Kenneth Kornelson on June 14, 1946 in Hutchinson. He died January 25, 2002. Other survivors: son, John Michael Kornelson and wife Joan, of Cheney; brothers, Robert May, Peck, KS, Ed May, Chapell Hill, TX; 2 grandchildren, Patrick Kornelson and Jennifer Kornelson. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Betty Smith. Funeral service: Elliott Chapel Hutchinson, Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 3 p.m., Rev. Larry Wedel officiating. Burial at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call at Elliott Mortuary from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
