Dorothy Driver

Dorothy Louise Driver Dorothy Louise Driver, 90, Topeka, passed away Friday December 9, 2016, of a broken heart. Dorothy was born on January 30, 1926, in Osawatomie, KS to Labon and Bernice (Gray) Evinger. She graduated in 1944 from Quenemo High School, where she met the love of her life Don Driver. After high school she attended business school in Chillicothe, MO. Don and Dorothy were married January 12, 1946, celebrating their 70th anniversary in January 2016. Don passed away June 14, 2016. While living in Quenemo, Dorothy and Don opened a restaurant, Don and Dorothy s Caf . In the early fifties, they moved to Topeka, where she was a homemaker raising two children. In the mid-sixties she obtained her real estate license and started working for Jim Paugh Realty. She kept her license at Bill Lewis Realtors for many years before deciding to retire. She spent over 25 years volunteering at KNI, taking kids to Sunday chapel. She is survived by her loving daughter, Deetra (Tad) Pritchett, her son, Dresden (Elizabeth) Driver, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, her niece Diane (Signorelli) Kannar. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews in the Driver family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 70 years Donald Driver, her sister Ruth (Evinger) Signorelli. A funeral ceremony will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 16, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
