It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Freda L. (Carter) Driver, a beloved mother, nana, and friend, who departed this world on March 14, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on August 22, 1950, in Scottsville, Kentucky to her parents Fred Warren and Margaret Louise (Atwood) Carter, Freda grew up surrounded by the love of her family, which shaped her into the kind, compassionate, and giving woman she was admired for throughout her life.
A 1968 graduate of Decatur Central High School, Freda dedicated over 22 years of her life to her position as a Receiving Clerk for Genco in Brownsburg, where her strong work ethic and warm personality left a lasting impression on her colleagues. After retiring in 2016, she embraced her newfound freedom by cherishing the moments spent with family and friends, cultivating connections that brought her great joy.
Freda will be lovingly remembered by her two children, Derek Driver (and partner Lex Arney) and Cindy (Hefner) Anderson (and husband Mike), all of whom carry forward her spirit and legacy. Her three grandchildren, Lizzie Hefner, Addilyn Hefner, and Scarlett Guthrie, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her cherished sisters, Dorothy Griffith and Cheri Argabright.
As we say farewell to Freda, let us carry the lessons of kindness, compassion, and love that she so effortlessly embodied. She will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her, a guiding light and a source of unwavering support. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
