Randall Lashley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sproles Family Funeral Home - New Castle on Mar. 13, 2026.
Randall Joe Lashley, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Worthington Place in Camby.

He was born on January 28, 1942, in Washington, Indiana, a son of the late George W. and Ruth L. (Evans) Lashley.

Joe was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard. For most of his working life, he drove a truck over the road, eventually retiring from Yellow Freight Trucking. He was also a 25-year member of U.A.W. Local 933.

Joe had an independent spirit and lived life in his own way. Never one to be overly concerned with rules or convention, he preferred to follow his own path and march to the beat of his own drum. Beneath that free-spirited nature, however, was a man with a big heart who loved life, loved his family, and enjoyed the simple pleasures that made him happy.

Joe enjoyed sports, especially golf and tennis. He was also a fan of NASCAR and basketball. He had a particular appreciation for old, fast cars and the thrill that came with them.

Those left to cherish Joe's memory include his grandsons, Tommy Brown, Dustin Murray, and Austin Murray; a brother, Jerry Lashley of Indianapolis; a sister, Teresa (Brian) Tarter of Albany, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Wethington.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at Calvary Bible Wesleyan Church, 168 Lawndale Dr., Plainfield, with Rev. Teresa Tarter and Pastor Rollin Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Mooresville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
