Mathew Wayne Lashley

Mathew Wayne Lashley was born 03/18/1981 in Presidio, California to Rodney Wayne Lashley and Trina Mae Jadin. Mathew passed away on 12/18/2025 in Spokane Valley, Washington surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Mathew attended Orting High School, the Spokane Skill Center and later graduated from Medical Lake High School in 1999. Matt married the love of his life, Amanda Mae Strader on 04/04/2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada while celebrating with their family and friends.

He was a long-time resident of Washington state and lived in the Spokane Valley for the last 10 years. He worked as a Journeymen Trim Carpenter and was the very proud owner of Millwork Cabinets and More LLC since 2018. Matt loved working in his trade for almost 25 years. You'd hardly ever see him without his Carhartt's and ball cap. He was especially proud of his beard; it was, by his own account, his best feature.

Matt's wife and children were his entire world. Being with them was his greatest joy, and he treasured every moment they shared. He was an incredible "girl dad," never hesitating to skip down the sidewalk with his daughters or proudly wear pink nail polish. His family's happiness was always his top priority. Whether going to the park, watching movies, or playing board games, Matt was happiest simply being together with the people he loved most.

Matt always loved working with his hands. Whether on a job site or at home, he found joy in building and creating projects. From a young age, fishing was one of his greatest passions; something he cherished sharing with his wife and children, passing along memories while making new ones together. Wrestling played a big role in Matt's teenage years and later became a special bond he shared with his daughter when she joined a team. Music was also a meaningful part of his life, an interest he proudly passed on to his children as a way to connect and spend time together.

Matt had a strong personality and firmly believed that you get out of life what you put into it, and he poured his heart into both his family and his business. He was well known for his crude, quick-witted sense of humor, which he proudly credited to his grandfather. Hearing his children laugh at the jokes and rhymes he grew up with brought him genuine joy and always made him smile.

Mathew is survived by his wife, Amanda Mae Lashley; son, Austin Wayne Lashley; 3 daughters: Autumn Danielle Lashley, Maddie Mae Lashley, and Aunah Janet Lashley; 2 brothers: Robert Culp and Johnaton Darby; 1 sister, Melissa Ann Pike; mother, Trina Mae Bunch; Grandparents: Earl Jadin and Betty Jadin.

He is preceded in death by his father, Rodney Wayne Lashley; and grandparents: Richard and Ethel Lashley and Leota and Vern Wolf.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for April 25, 2026, at the Millwood Masonic Center, 3219 N. Argonne Rd., Spokane, WA 99212, from 11:30am to 2:00pm, open to family, friends, and work associates.
