Cheryl Smith Obituary
Cheryl Darlene Smith,
age 76 of Speedway, Indiana, passed away in the comfort of her own home on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Cheryl was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 6, 1949.
Cheryl was a graduate of Decatur Central High School. She worked as a Grinder at Allison Transmission up until her retirement. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoyed taking camping trips, drawing, and putting together jigsaw puzzles; but most of all, Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Surviving to cherish the memory of Cheryl are her three children: Larry Smith (Dixie), Shawn Meek (Daniel Gillespie), and Darren Smith (Terri); her 10 grandchildren; her 4 great grandchildren; and her lifelong friend, Janice Robertson.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, located at 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221.
Her funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM.
Burial will take place at West Newton Cemetery.
