Dorothy Meyer Obituary

Our family is deeply saddened to inform you that our Grammy, Dorothy Meyer, passed away Monday night, April 4, 2016, at the age of 72.  Grammy passed away unexpectedly at Baylor Health Care Center in Dallas, Texas due to heart failure.

Grammy is survived by her three children, Norma Meyer Worthington, Sherry Meyer Schwirtlich, and Gordon William (Bill) Meyer.  She also leaves behind her best friend of 31 years, Joe Juarez.  She had seven grandchildren; Brad, Edward, Mikal, Jessica, Kelsey, Stephanie and Justin; and nine great-grandchildren; Adam, Lilly, Matthew, Eden, Leena, Ian, Roman, Jeremiah, and Elizabeth, plus two more on the way.  Baby Bhattacharya (Jessica) is due in July and Baby Meyer (Justin) is due in August.

Dorothy was born on May 10, 1943 in Bremerton, Washington.  She was the only child of Evelyn and Norman William Stratmann.  She lived in Corpus Christi, Texas for many years before moving to Dallas in 1978.  She worked numerous years at SpectraVision and AMX as an Electronic Assembler.

Grammy was a strong and simple woman.  She had a beautiful heart and truly found happiness in life itself.  Grammy did not find wealth in possessions but in memories and love for her family and friends.  Those were her precious possessions.  She adored her children and all of her grandchildren.  Her pride in family brought her great joy.  Our family has been very blessed to have her in our lives.  We will always love her and miss her for the rest of our lives.
