Edward Custenborder Obituary
Ed was born on November 13, 1936, in Topeka, the son of Franklin and Rose Donnelly Custenborder. He graduated from Hayden Catholic High School in 1954. Ed was married to Mary Judith Slaybaugh; she preceded him in death on November 6, 2018. Ed and Judy were the owners of Ed's Florist Shop in North Topeka. Ed was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Topeka Officials Association, and the Kansas State High School Activities Association. Ed was an avid outdoorsman. He also participated in coaching and officiating youth athletics.
Ed is survived by his children, Mike Custenborder (Denise), Carla Little (Wes), Paula Arnold and Steve Custenborder (Jonelle); eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Connie, Rosemary, Janet, George, John and Stephanie. He was preceded in death by grandchildren, Greg and Karlee, and brother, Greg.
Visitation will be 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Per Ed's wish, cremation will follow his service and inurnment will be private at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Church, sent in care of the funeral home.

Just learned that Mr.Custenborder passed away.He was a great man totally devoted to family and church. He and his wife raised a great family over the years. Just learned that Mr.Custenborder passed away.He was truly a great man and completely devoted to his family and church. He and his wife raised a great family over the many years and we in the Dodson family shared a great deal of good memories with Ed and his family out on the ball field and at Most Pure Heart Church.He was a mentor to all those he had contact with.
