Edward H. DeVader

EMMETT- Edward H. DeVader, 91, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the home of his daughter in St. Marys. He was born July 30, 1918 at Delia the son of Edward J. and Marie DeWilde DeVader. Ed lived in the Emmett community all of his life. Mr. DeVader was a farmer. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett, and a life member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 657 in St. Marys. He was a member of the N.F.O. and had served as mayor of Emmett. Ed worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps as a young man. On November 18, 1940 he was united in marriage to Pauline Lysek at Delia. She died May 22, 1989, he was also preceded in death by a son, Mark, a granddaughter Dana Lynn Perry, brothers, Ray and Joe, and sisters, Theresa and Helen. He later married Bonnie Laswell. She survives of the home. Survivors include five daughters, Mary Lou (Dave) Finnegan, Topeka, Bobbie McGrath, St. Marys, Karen (Skip) Keller, Emmett, Linda (Danny) Perry, Emmett and Donna (Gary) Smith, St. Marys; three sons, Greg (JoAnn) DeVader, Marvin DeVader and Kevin (Ronda) DeVader all of Emmett; sisters, Anna Morford, St. Marys and Mary Kay Berberick, Independence, ; brothers, Henry "Hank" DeVader, St. Marys, Leonard DeVader, Lone Star, MO, and Donald "Butch" DeVader Burlington, CO: 23 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A Rosary/Prayer Service will be at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 13th at the church.
