Esther (she told me to call her that the first time I met her in 1994) was one of my favorite neighbors. I enjoyed living next door to her on Story Street and our visits and many laughs. I was just talking about "Esther's tree" this week. She had the most beatiful tree in her front yard and it had the most wonderful colors in the fall. We all know Esther is home now and I look forward to seeing her again. She was a blessing to know and I am so glad she was my friend.

To Esther's family, I cannot begin to tell you how special that Esther was and always will be to all of us! Oh, the memories of visiting with her at her house with her cat, "Buff Carmelita",letting Katie play the organ, us playing cards with her,(boy, did she like to win!)-always saying the first hand never counted, to bid high! Dad was always over whenever she needed any carpenter work done. She always had a dessert to share with company! The wonderful visits at Lexington. She cherished the crocheted throw we gave her for her birthday, and always asked about everyone in our family, remembering all the kids and grandkids, like they were all her family! We will continue to keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers, not only during the holidays. May the wonderful memories of your gracious mom make you smile! What a wonderful and God pleasing life she led! I never have known anyone to be 107! She loved the Lord and was an inspiration to all who knew her! She is with the angels now! May knowing she is in heaven now give you peace! Sincerely, Tammi,Pat and Katie Pierce and Alfred and Lila Gooding

Aunt Esther was an amazing woman of strong faith and strong character. She never hesitated to share her faith in Jesus and proclaim his goodness. She helped make this life a little brighter for all the lives she touched, shared and loved. We'll miss you!

It was such a wonderful experience getting to know Esther. She was a remarkable, gifted woman. I will miss seeing her; she will live on in her children and grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. With sympathy and God's blessings.
