Ethel Weckbaugh Obituary

Ethel Marie Weckbaugh, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Brewster Place in Topeka. She was born November 23, 1923 in Topeka, the daughter of Axel and Selma Anderson Dahlstrom. Ethel was a life-long Topeka resident and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1941. She was a homemaker and also was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for several years. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Ethel married Leland S. Weckbaugh on May 30, 1946 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2009. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter. Survivors include three sons, Larry (Raleigh) Weckbaugh of Dunkirk, MD, Terry Weckbaugh of Kansas City, KS, Gary (Marcia) Weckbaugh of Topeka, five grandchildren, Todd, Casey, Brandon, Chelsie and Logan, four great-grandchildren, Addison, Connor, Carolyn and Camden, her nieces, Dee, Arlene and Leslie and her nephew, Ed. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church. Inurnment will take place in Topeka Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 SE Michigan Ave., Topeka, KS 66605 or to Grace Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St. Suite 100, Topeka, KS 66614.
