I have fond memories of school and band with Fen. I am so sorry for your loss of him too soon. I'll look for his place in Mesopotamia Cemetary when I visit there. My sympathy to all of his family and the Byrds of Demopolis. We miss you, Frances Dukes Wildsmith, Class of '67

I graduated from Demopolis High School with Fen in 1967. We were also in the band where he kept us smiling with all of his funny remarks. I remember him best when we dressed him up as Foghorn Leghorn for some contest. He was usually up for anything goofy. Looks like he never changed. My thoughts are with his family including all of the Byrd brothers we grew up with so long ago. They were always unique characters and that's why we remember them and Betty and Mrs. Byrd so clearly...Harriett Pfaffman
