Dr, Kerby and I roomed together while we were freshman medical students. He was a brilliant student and became a brilliant physician, known and loved by all that he met. I consider him part of my very being and I miss him terribly. I hope to see Mrs. Kerby at are fall reunion.

What a wonderful man and neighbor. My family so appreciates all of his good works as my father's caring doctor. I also enjoyed many memories of being at your house while palling around with Gwen and getting to know his kind and gentle ways. He will be missed and he left this world a little better place for us all that were blessed to meet him. Your family is in my family's thoughts and prayers. Take care, Margie Bryant Bramon

Though I only have known Jerry for a few months as a member of our Monday/Friday coffee group, I enjoyed conversing with him on so many subjects. He will be greatly missed.

Jerry and Arlis, ...very special friends of my wife Fleeta (deceased) and me. We enjoyed so much of life together, from special meals, great wine, incredible conversation, on and on. His contributions professionally did set a standard at the KU Medical Center, and in the lives of all he touched personally.

I will always remember the support and consideration Dr. Kerby provided me when he served as President of the American Lung Association of Kansas and the Kansas Thoracic Society. I extend my sincere sympathy to Arlis and the family.

Dr Kerby was my pulmonary physician for over 40 years. Beginning in 1972 he, along with Dr Ruth, got my wife, Sandra, and me through the initial uncertainty of defining and copying with this disease. He provided care thru a number of hospitalizations, to the present time of robust (for age 78) health.
It was Dr Kerby's calm restraint and light touch that I came to admire and respect. He never over managed care. He was open to suggestions from the patient and students/staff. He was low key all the way. I liked that.

We shared 34 wonderful years with Jerry and Arlis in our
Sunday evening wine group!
He was an amazing friend and chef. We have said a prayer and have drunk a bottle of Ch. Margaux in his honor. Here 's to Jerry, our beloved friend.
