Seems like yesterday I was fishing at Lake Shawnee at the kids pond, or playing catch with a baseball or playing pool, ping pong or boxing in our garage, with my dad. He was my mentor, my best friend and my dad. Man, where did all the years go.When I decided to move to Georgia 22 years ago, the hardest part was leaving my dad, but that never changed my love for him. Last week when I visited him at Hospice, it was hard for he and I, when I told him goodbye and Thank you and kissed him, despite his condition, he tried to get up, I think he wanted to go with me, GOD only knows how much I would of given for him to have the power to do so. As I write this, I wipe away the tears, I miss my dad, I really do, but I will reflect and cherish everything he gave me and eventually it will get easier. To my daddy, Poppa Jack, I love you forever and ever.

Jack wins the shake-a-day!

As a bartender at the Brass Rail for the past 5 years, Jack and I have become good friends. I have seen him win the shake-a-day on a couple of occasions. His smile lit a room and he will be missed.
Your great outlook on life was an inspiration to me. In a recent conversation we had, we talked about how when we leave the world, we just want to be remembered by those that we love and leave behind. I was just a bartender at your local hangout and I will always remember you, Jack.
Also, I will try to remember to play the shake-a-day in your honor every day that I work from now on. Maybe one day, I'll roll that lucky roll too. Like you've told me, "It's all in the wrist!" I'll keep practicing your move, old friend, and when I win, I'll buy the house a round in your honor.

I will really miss my unique and wonderful Uncle Jack. He was a caring and loving brother to my mom, Lola. His views on the way life should be always entertained me. Heaven just welcomed a great man.

I have so many Jack stories! He and my dad were good friends. His homemade birthday cards were the BEST, I have them still....his editorials, his sign in regards to his home place (off Branner) his pool tournaments, his card playing skills and just his topics of conversation. GREAT Guy and will be missed by so many!!! God Speed Jack!
