James Simpler Obituary

James Patrick Simpler, Sr. James Patrick Simpler, Sr., 89, of Topeka, passed away, Sunday 2/27/2011. Mr. Simpler retired as a Master Sergeant in the USAF having served in both WWII and Korea. He was a member of Capitol Post #1 American Legion, Philip Billard Post #1650 V.F.W., Golden Rule Lodge # 90 A.F. and A.M. and the Arab Shrine. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Simpler, one son, one daughter and two step sons. Mr. Simpler will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. that evening. A funeral ceremony will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Betty: I was so sorry to hear about Pat's passing. Hope you are doing OK. I always enjoyed seeing you and Pat at the Moose when you came over for dinner. I always remember the good times that Eldon and Pat had together and their jokes. You and your family is certainly in our prayers during this very sad time. Hang in there!!!
