Janet Baxa Janet Ann Baxa, 59, Topeka, KS, passed away quietly at her home on Sunday, May 10, 2015, after a courageous battle with ALS. Janet was born April 27, 1956, in Alma, NE. She worked as an architectural drafter, certified nursing assistant, homemaker, and nursing home activities assistant throughout her career. Janet was a very well liked, loving and caring person who always had a smile on her face that could light up not just the room, but the world. Whether it was her friends, family, co-workers, or patients she always had time to listen and care for anyone in need. Janet had a love for life and was also an avid lover of cats. Every single person she befriended or who called her a member of the family was made better from knowing her. She is survived by her husband Ronald; sons, Brian and Greg; grandchildren, Paislee and Kaylee; her mother, Stella Johnson; brother, Larry Johnson; and sister, Barbara Steinmann. She was preceded in death by her father Robert D. Johnson. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Cornerstone Community Church, 7620 SW 21st Street, Topeka. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Topeka.
