Jerry Uhrig Obituary
He was born September 1, 1941, in Watonga, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph Albert and Lydia Kathryn (Fearn) Uhrig. He was a graduate of Mulhall High School in Oklahoma.
Jerry was employed as a terminal manager for the Consolidated Freightways Trucking Company.
Jerry married Doris Jean Fry on July 2, 1960 in Guthrie, OK. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Jerry Ray Uhrig II, Raytown, MO; a daughter, Vicky Thompson, Topeka; three grandchildren, Justin Thompson, Jessica Thompson and Rebecca Uhrig; a great-grandson, Luke Thompson; and two sisters, Kathryn Dickenson, Mulhall, OK and Naomi Huffer, Modesto, CA.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Thompson; three brothers, Delbert, Dennis and Kenneth Uhrig; and a sister, Connie Uhrig.
Jerry enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing. He loved to go to the casino. Jerry was into woodworking and watching old westerns.
A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Emmanuel Cemetery, Tecumseh, KS.

Doris and Family, it is with great sadness to learn of Jerry's passing. He was a good man with a good heart and a great sense of humor. Know that my dad will welcome him with open arms as they carry on their friendship and love of hunting and fishing together in the loving arms of the Lord. Thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. Blessings always.
