Blessings to the family and blessings to Joan as she crosses over. She has such a kind, beautiful and gentle heart with a remarkable talent given only to a very special few. While she will always live on in the hearts of her family and friends, her shining spirit will be with us through her life, her family and her life's work.
No one had the keen eye and talent that will forever bring New Mexico alive and dancing as this dear soul has. She will always be able to transport us to the places she knew with only a glance at one of the treasures that she so beautifully opened her heart and shared with us.
We are all graced with the time her glorious presence was among us and she will be truly missed.

To the family of Joan Foth: Joan had a great impact on women in my age group, who later in their life attended Washburn University and wanted to persue the arts. There were quite a number of us.
She personally inspired me and will always have a special place in my memory. It's been a little over a year ago that we talked. I am thankful for that time. My sincerest and deepest sympathy to your family. Beth Neuer

To Joan's families. We are saddened by her passing. She was a wonderful artist and person. I graduated in 1957 and remember her well! I also knew her late husband Richard. God Bless!

I took her watercolor class in the 1980's at Washburn U. in Topeka, Ks. My classroom paintings were not good...she took us to paint a Kansas rural landscape one Saturday. I was inspired by the beautiful quiet/simple late fall Kansas landscape. It was my only good painting (she even gave my a compliment).. then and since then..I had it matted and framed and it hangs in my home, today. She was a wonderful and patient instructor and enjoyed her paintings, too.

I have many fond memories of Joan as an artist, instructor and friend. It is a joy of my life to have known Joan and her work. My sympathies go to her family, and to the art world, in this loss.

I so admired Joan as an artist, a teacher and so much more. She was pivotal in introducing me to the art of the SW and helping expand my vision. I know she'll be missed by so many. My condolences to her family and friends.
