Major John was a role model for those who worked under him. He always had my complete trust and respect. He was a fair man in all of his dealings with us. I will miss him very much.

I worked directly under John for my first 8 years on the police department an enjoyed his humor. Once he told me " I may not always be right but I'm always the Major " Nuff said.. I will miss his smile and his special way of handling tough situations.

The Weinkauf family is a class act and Maj. John was at the head of the class. I will never forget the "Dirty Thirty + Three" newsletters each month. My sympathies to the Weinkauf Family.

Major John Weinkauf was a true gentelman and it was a pleasure to have worked under him. When I needed my butt kicked, he kicked it, and when I needed a pat on the back, I got it. A fairer person, I have never known.
My sympathy goes out to the Weinkauf family. Goodby Major.

Major John was so pleasant to work with, I was just down the hall and enjoyed his sense of humor. It was so much fun to work at PD then. He will be missed, I know he enjoyed retirement to the fullest.

Major John was a good and fair supervisor. He'd correct your mistakes, once, in a nice way and as long as you made the correction, that was the end of it. Not a lot of people like that anymore. We'll miss you Major.
