Lewis Wolfe Obituary

Lewis A. Wolfe, 66, of Topeka passed away at his home on Friday, September 5, 2008. He was born Dec. 25, 1941 in Holton, Kansas the son of Calvin C. and Gladys Belle (Priest) Wolfe. He attended school in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High with the class of 1960 and later attended Washburn University. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Kansas National Guard and Kansas Army Reserve. Lewis was a manager and meat cutter for Falley's and Food-4 Less Grocery Stores for over 30 years. Lewis had also been a member of the Moose Lodge, Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Masonic organizations and served as Vice-President of Ottawa Jaycees. On August 28, 1964 at Ottawa, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Sandra Elder. Sandra preceded him in death in March of 2003. Survivors include his son, Tim Wolfe and his wife Cindy of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Christian and Travis Wolfe; brothers and sisters, Gene Wolfe and Calvin Wolfe, Doris Smith and Nadine Burghart. Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 13th at Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N. Kansas, in Topeka. The family will also receive friends from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans in care of the funeral home. Dr. Leonard and his staff extend our condolences for your loss. Lewis was nicknamed "punkin' head" by our optician and he would always identify himself as that when he called our office. He always had a joke to tell...he will be missed.
