Nancy Schirmer

Nancy Stewart Schirmer Nancy Stewart Schirmer (Moore) 83, passed away May 29, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nancy was born in Larkinburg, Kansas, to Jetta and Harry Moore on September 19, 1932. She went to high school at Holton High School and graduated in 1950. She taught elementary school for over 50 years. She enjoyed sports, reading, travel, and spending time with her family. Nancy is most remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, friend and teacher with an inner strength and light that amazed us all. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Jetta; daughter, Patty Schirmer and grandson Grant Schirmer. Nancy is survived by her husband Gerald Schirmer; daughters Susan (Mike) Machen and Sarah (Joe) d Eon; son Chet (Karen) Schirmer; 10 grandchildren Samantha (Ben) Alsop, Ben (Megan) Machen, Alex Machen, Edward Machen, Jeanne (Tony) Cafferata, Christie d Eon, Joseph d Eon, Tiffany (Tony) Jordan, Jetta (Noah) Russell, and Kit Schirmer; and 8 great-grandchildren Lola and AJ Cafferata, Grayson Alsop, Emerson and Declan Russell, Elliott Machen, and Eli and Remington Jordan. Nancy is also survived by all her Moore siblings: Jarry, Sam, Bryce, Marion, and Becky (Stauffer). Memorial service will be held at Evangel United Methodist Church on June 11, 2016 at 10:00 am at 227 Pennsylvania Ave, Holton, KS, 66436. Burial will follow at Holton Cemetery.
