I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Thier love leaves an idelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.

Rock - you left a great impression on me. I love the way you tell stories - humor for you is an understand. Your jovial spirit is one I will always remember.

After recently learning of Rand's passing, the Tucker family sends their deepest sympathies and are so sorry for missing the memorial service. We've watched the Rock boys grow and became very close to Rand and his family as we have been neighbors for many years. The great memories we will treasure; BBQs, baseball games, Fourth of July celebrations, pumpkin carvings, Bass Pro Shop, birthday parties, etc. Such great times. Rand and Chris had so much in common as both being military men and officers. Chris learned a lot from Rand's career and appreciated the many stories. We love you much all and will always remain in contact even if life moves you else where. Love, The Tuckers
Dear Father in Heaven, we thank You for the blessing that Rand has been to us!

The Federal Government lost one of its greatest mentors.
Rock left behind a strong legacy in Washington and across the country. He brought civility, decorum and practicality to just about everything he touched. There are thousands of men and women in this country who, in terms of the programs that they operate, the education and training they received, are in many ways being touched by Rand Rock. Those who knew him and worked with him can always say that Rock was always good for morale. He was a visionary, a planner, a coach and a teacher. He has been a mentor to truly an entire generation of law enforcement officials and now homeland security professionals. He always stated “don't forget who we serve, and that's the American people.” We've had a tremendous loss in homeland security and public safety in the country because we've lost Rock. We lost someone that had the historical knowledge and the capability to help make America better prepared, and we need more like Rand Rock. God Bless You.

Rand was a man of character and integrity who knew the benefits of laughter! Through interactions with him since the 1990's, first with the US Marshall Service and then with ISCD, he was always sincere, determined, and genuinely cared about people. He will be missed by many. To his family I extend my sincerest sympathy. Know that his legacy lives on through the examples and lessons he taught us by the way he lived his life.

Please know that he is and always will be in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers - God only made one Rand Rock and we are all lucky to have spent some quality time with him in our lives. The guest book photo of your dedicated husband, father, and professional lawman is perfect!

Aww Rand Rock, what a loss for the world this past week. As any of us who knew or spent time with Rock, it was like listening to Paul Harvey. His stories were so vivid and entertaining that you thought you were there with him when the story originated in his life. His respect for his fellow man was always evident in every thing he did. For a guy who did so much with his time on earth, he always maintained his ability to make you feel as if you were on the same level with him, no matter what the rank was bewteen the two of you. My memories of Rock will always be of him holding court in D.C. and in Knoxville, with many of us hanging on every word Rock said. Having said that, his most passionate stories were always, and I mean always revolved around Katy and the boys. His love and affection for his family was always so evident, the voice mails he would share of the boys howling on his phone were absolutely priceless. I also know that the way Rock has raised his boys, we havent seen the end of the Rock legacy. So Rock, just like Paul Harvey would say, we will wait until you are ready to tell us the "rest of the story". God Bless you my brother!!!

Rock always had a store to tell that would make people laugh even if you where in a bad mood. When you would came to HQ you talked about your boys and what they had been up to, showing us new pictures of them. I wish the world had more people like you, you will be greatly missed, but we know you are now in peace, no more pain. Thanks for coming into my life. Love Dottie and Jim Mozell.

Orwell's quote “People Sleep Peacefully in Their Beds at Night Only Because Rough Men Stand Ready to Do Violence on Their Behalf" paints my friend Rock in my mind's eye. A man of utmost integrity, steadfast in his beliefs, and would stop at nothing to take care of his friends and loved ones. The world was fortunate to have had you in it my friend. You are missed.

Rock as I new him was a true bright spot during our extremely long academy in Knoxville, TN. He and I hit it off mostly because of his Oklahoma roots and his past job as a US Marshal. We spent many breakfasts at a local restaurant near our hotel. Rock was a very funny story teller and I always enjoyed how he cut directly to the point during these stories, ha ha. He was probably the most proud father I have ever seen which was another thing we had in common as my son is 11. Rock was so proud he would almost get mad if I tried to just buy him breakfast. He was a great man and a great friend!

There is a little less brightness and laughter in the world now that Rand has left us. We became fellow inspectors at the same time and quickly moved into good friends (He always said I was the first guy from NJ he liked!). His immense intelligence and caring came through in his humor and to see him shine all you had to do was listen to him talk about his love of Katy and their boys. He was a co-worker, good friend, my lawyer (inside joke), and an example for all of what a good person can accomplish in this world. If you want to see a little bit of Rand on the silver screen, go see “Lincoln.” You will see the same use of humor through all times, good and bad, and if you paid attention, you can learn important lessons from the stories told by both men. Distance only made our friendship stronger and I miss him greatly.
