I am a nurse at KU MED and assisted your mother Donna with discharge plans during some of her admissions. Donna was always so gracious even when she was sick, and I always loved talking to your dad about KU sports! They were so proud of their children and grandchildren. I was sad last year when I heard about Donna and yesterday when I read about Bob in the Star. I did not know your parents well, but just loved them both! I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

It was a privilege to work for and know Bob all these years. I enjoyed his sense of humor and listening to his stories. I will remember Bob always. My prayers are with all the family.

To the kids, I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was such a nice man. He and your Mom were such good neighbors to us when I lived in Iola. You kids really had such wonderful parents and great role models. Bob was such a gentle and excellent leader. He will be missed.

To: all the Talkington children and grandchildren: We are so sorry to hear of Bob's death. He and Donna were dear friends with whom we enjoyed many great experiences both in Topeka and on our trips representing Kansas; memories that are always with us. You were blessed with some wonderful parents and we send our thoughts, sympathy and prayers that your memories will sustain you at this time. We will miss our friend Bob.
Sincerely, Jim and Margie Braden

Robert Talkington and I opposed each other and worked together on many legal matters over a period of almost 50 years. Robert was always a gentleman, his word was his bond, and it was always a challenging experience to work on matters he was involved in.
